Proof of the Existence of God?

Written by admin on November 30th, 2008

I asked a question at
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20080926145532AA8XQNK&r=w
I am still not satisfied…
Atheists people actually don’t know what the purpose of life means.. Anyways, here I am having the proof of God’s existence(by Dr.Zakir Naik) and I hope and humbly requests the atheists to plz read all I had written.

CONGRATULATING AN ATHEIST

Normally, when I meet an atheist, the first thing I like to do is to congratulate him and say, ” My special congratulations to you”, because most of the people who believe in God are doing blind belief - he is a Christian, because his father is a Christian; he is a Hindu, because his father is a Hindu; the majority of the people in the world are blindly following the religion of their fathers. An atheist, on the other hand, even though he may belong to a religious family, uses his intellect to deny the existence of God; what ever concept or qualities of God he may have learnt in his religion may not seem to be logical to him.

My Muslim brothers may question me, “Zakir, why are you congratulating an atheist?” The reason that I am congratulating an atheist is because he agrees with the first part of the Shahada i.e. the Islamic Creed, ‘La ilaaha’ - meaning ‘there is no God’. So half my job is already done; now the only part left is ‘il lallah’ i.e. ‘BUT ALLAH’ which I shall do Insha Allah. With others (who are not atheists) I have to first remove from their minds the wrong concept of God they may have and then put the correct concept of one true God.

LOGICAL CONCEPT OF GOD

My first question to the atheist will be: “What is the definition of God?” For a person to say there is no God, he should know what is the meaning of God. If I hold a book and say that ‘this is a pen’, for the opposite person to say, ‘it is not a pen’, he should know what is the definition of a pen, even if he does not know nor is able to recognise or identify the object I am holding in my hand. For him to say this is not a pen, he should at least know what a pen means. Similarly for an atheist to say ‘there is no God’, he should at least know the concept of God. His concept of God would be derived from the surroundings in which he lives. The god that a large number of people worship has got human qualities - therefore he does not believe in such a god. Similarly a Muslim too does not and should not believe in such false gods.

If a non-Muslim believes that Islam is a merciless religion with something to do with terrorism; a religion which does not give rights to women; a religion which contradicts science; in his limited sense that non-Muslim is correct to reject such Islam. The problem is he has a wrong picture of Islam. Even I reject such a false picture of Islam, but at the same time, it becomes my duty as a Muslim to present the correct picture of Islam to that non-Muslim i.e. Islam is a merciful religion, it gives equal rights to the women, it is not incompatible with logic, reason and science; if I present the correct facts about Islam, that non-Muslim may Inshallah accept Islam.

Similarly the atheist rejects the false gods and the duty of every Muslim is to present the correct concept of God which he shall Insha Allah not refuse.

(You may refer to my article, ‘Concept of God in Islam’, for more details)

QUR’AN AND MODERN SCIENCE

The methods of proving the existence of God with usage of the material provided in the ‘Concept of God in Islam’ to an atheist may satisfy some but not all.

Many atheists demand a scientific proof for the existence of God. I agree that today is the age of science and technology. Let us use scientific knowledge to kill two birds with one stone, i.e. to prove the existence of God and simultaneously prove that the Qur’an is a revelation of God.

If a new object or a machine, which no one in the world has ever seen or heard of before, is shown to an atheist or any person and then a question is asked, ” Who is the first person who will be able to provide details of the mechanism of this unknown object? After little bit of thinking, he will reply, ‘the creator of that object.’ Some may say ‘the producer’ while others may say ‘the manufacturer.’ What ever answer the person gives, keep it in your mind, the answer will always be either the creator, the producer, the manufacturer or some what of the same meaning, i.e. the person who has made it or created it. Don’t grapple with words, whatever answer he gives, the meaning will be same, therefore accept it.

SCIENTIFIC FACTS MENTIONED IN THE QUR’AN: for details on this subject please refer to my book, ‘THE QUR’AN AND MODERN SCIENCE – COMPATIBLE OR INCOMPATIBLE?

THEORY OF PROBABILITY

In mathematics there is a theory known as ‘Theory of Probability’. If you have two options, out of which one is right, and one is wrong, the chances that you will chose the right one is half, i.e. one out of the two will be correct. You have 50% chances of being correct. Similarly if you to
I feel that none of the answerer had actually read the whole stuff..
Its really sad!!
Sally JM! We are not here to critisize Dr. Zakir or Islam. My dear read the stuff again with a +ive point of u. You will understand the logic behind Dr. Zakir’s Answer’s.
I find every answer of Dr, Zakir completely logical n majority of the people also thinks the same.
I feel the problem is people don’t want to accept the reality. They don’t want to go deep into the realities. Just wants a lovely life, having no concern for others and if there is a sort of care then it is also infinitely small.

where is the proof?

The Truth Fairy 2 December 2nd, 2008 (#)

We will never prove or disprove the existence of ANY God. PERIOD.

Ftwasher December 4th, 2008 (#)

your math is flawed, because you did not allow for the variable of the person believing in a false God

Yet another nutbar loon screed, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.

Also, full of so many fallacies and flat out idiocies, that trying to respond point by point to it, would cause a brain clot. Clearly, the writer of it had had many by the time that they oozed this noise.

Lexi December 6th, 2008 (#)

There will never be any actual proof of the existence of there being a god.

Sorry no, read it before and it if not proof nor does it have a shred of evidence. The worst part is: “SCIENTIFIC FACTS MENTIONED IN THE QUR’AN: for details on this subject please refer to my book, ‘THE QUR’AN AND MODERN SCIENCE – COMPATIBLE OR INCOMPATIBLE?” Not only are these easy for a 10 year old to see through, this is a blatant plug for one of his books.

I believe in fairies.

You are arguing islamic philosophy..not providing any proof. I do not understand your point about the creator of a specific invention. Yes, you ask the creator of a device, how a new object functions. In science, we can always turn to the creator for an answer. Always. The whole point of atheism is that this is not possible with religion. A creator has not appeared and no universal proof exists otherwise. Think about it. If aliens appear on this planet, who would they believe. Visual results or Faith?

I am atheist…..sorta. The only reason i use that title is because i choose not to say I believe in god. My parents didn’t tell me to believe in god nor did they say you musn’t beliieve in god. Therefore i am left to my own opinions. I choose basically not to rule out all possibilities and so what you said has given me thought. But not enough to prove or not prove existence. Science can not prove such a thing. It doesn’t work that way. I’m no science major but It just doesn’t work. I believe that people who devote themselves to their religion are fairly close-minded in that particular topic. You don’t see a Jewish person agreeing with a christian now do you? by choosing not to believe, i am open to all different religions. i can’t rule one out because they are all as fareched(or believable, it depends on how you look at it) as the next. Therefore everything you said has given me a fairly lot to look at but not a whole lot of anything to fix my mind. Religion is a choice but definetley NOT proven. I can find no proof and i don’t think science or anything can prove it. I am not a believer persay but i am not a fixed enough person to rule anything (particularily in this sence).

bible states verse: Genesis 41:17 And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, In my dream…..

the old egyptian kingdom which nabi Yusuf (Joseph) alayhi salaam lived, was during the middle kingdom.

The Middle Kingdom is the period from the establishment of the 11th Dynasty to the end of the 14th Dynasty, roughly between 2040 BC and 1640 BC.

“pharaoh” was originally name of the palace DURING THE MIDDLE KINGDOM, later adopted as king’s name during the 18th DYNASTY.

what is pharaoh mean?
(read start until u finish Etymology)

the Qur’an from our 1All-Wise Creator states: Yusuf (12), 43 Waqala almaliku. (The king (of Egypt) said: “I do see (in a vision) ).

Malik in arabic means king/ruler. Quran revealed by Allah to his messenger nabi Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa salaam used the term properly to that dynasty, when ppl (bible believing & others) thought the middle kingdom’s rulers were called “pharaoh”

We caused Jesus, son of Mary, to follow in their footsteps, confirming that which was (revealed) before him in the Torah & We bestowed on him the Gospel wherein is guidance & a light, confirming that which was (revealed) before it in the Torah - a guidance & an admonition unto those who ward off (evil). (46) Let the People of the Gospel judge by that which Allah hath revealed: such are evil-livers. (47)

page 3
pharoah was used properly for nabi Musa’s (Moses) time.

“In the Exodus account, the birth of Moses (dated by the Talmud to 7 Adar 2368, or 1393 BCE)”

during the 18th dynasty when the name pharaoh was adopted/replaced for the name of the king’s.

Surah Al Araaf: 103
Then, after them, We sent Moses with our tokens unto Pharaoh & his chiefs, but they repelled them. Now, see the nature of the consequence for the corrupter! (103)

in the Quran, the name “firAAawna” (pharaoh) was used by Allah, our 1All-Wise Creator to his messenger sallallahu alayhi wa salaam.

nabi Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa salaam, stated accurate claims from our 1Lord, which is the Qur’an.

he recited to his nation & all of future generations of mankind the Qur’an. he warned ppl as a messenger, if they arent obedient, greatful, humble to their 1Lord, they are headed to a painful doom for disbelieving & doing evil.

he was illiterate, a merchant, no expertise, knowledge, research (scientific) of ancient egypt.

We bring thee a token from thy Lord. And peace will be for him who followeth right guidance. (47) Lo! it hath been revealed unto us that the doom will be for him who denieth and turneth away. (48)

(Pharaoh) said: Who then is the Lord of you twain, O Moses? (49) He said: Our Lord is He Who gave unto everything its nature, then guided it aright. (50)

Sami’ Allahu liman hamida. Rabbana lakal hamd.

Allah hears all who praise Him. Our Lord, for You is all praise.

There can never be proof or disproof of the existence of any god. That’s why I am a philosophical agnostic.

Zakir says atheists have no conception or definition of “God.” I agree. But what he doesn’t realize is that religious believers also either have no conception of God, or a very slap-dash concept. When we are honest with ourselves, we realize we are either theistic or atheistic agnostics.

“If a non-Muslim believes that Islam is a merciless religion with something to do with terrorism; a religion which does not give rights to women; a religion which contradicts science; in his limited sense that non-Muslim is correct to reject such Islam. The problem is he has a wrong picture of Islam.”

By there fruits you shall know them. Not every Muslim is a terrorists, but the great majority of terrorists are Muslims. All 19 Sept. 11 hijackers were Muslim. These are trends hardheaded analysts can’t ignore, no matter that by doing so we offend the PC police. Islam, as a religion, has a lot of evil to own up to.

“If a new object or a machine, which no one in the world has ever seen or heard of before, is shown to an atheist or any person and then a question is asked, ” Who is the first person who will be able to provide details of the mechanism of this unknown object? After little bit of thinking, he will reply, ‘the creator of that object.’”

This is the Argument from Design as used by William Paley in his essay using a pocket watch in the same manner Zakir makes his argument. The problem with the argument is that human artifacts are well known to be precisely that–human artifacts. Assuming similar intentional design elements in natural objects is also precisely that—a large assumption, not a fact.

Zakir hasn’t proven the existence of God. All he proves is that old theistic arguments are recyclable.

You are a muslim because your father was a muslim, so what is wrong with being a christian when his father is christian.

And what if your son grows up and converts to christianity.

or

If you had converted to Islam, you are supposed to say
” I bear witness that Mohammed is the messanger of God”
Mohammad died a thousad years ago.
So how is it that you are a witness to his prophethood now.
If this sounds logical, tell me what is ill-logical.
( I suppose you have common sense.)
